Antisocial personality disorder has the main features of consistent disregard for others with exploitation and repeated unlawful actions. Persons with antisocial PD were previously called psychopaths or sociopaths. There is a clear history of conduct disorder in childhood, and the individuals show no remorse for hurting others. They repeatedly neglect responsibilities, tell lies, and perform destructive or illegal acts, without developing any insight into pre dictable consequences. This disorder may be under diagnosed in women and over diagnosed in clients of lower socioeconomic status. These individuals do not voluntarily seek psychiatric care, but they are often seen for court-referred evaluation or treatment.
