The EC values of substrate mixes and the field soil were inthe range of 3.9–5.2 dS m−1at the beginning of the experiment(Table 1). These values remained little changed at the end of theseason, except for the field soil where it decreased from 5.0 to2.3 dS m−1(Table 2). Na levels were below 400 mg l−1and Cl below300 mg l−1(Tables 1 and 2).
