27.09.2009 The decisive rejection of the “fair flight initiative” is a new sign of the commitment of the citizens of Zurich to Zurich Airport. After rejecting the 2007 initiative to restrict the number of flights, the voters again declared their support for an efficient high-capacity airport. The distribution of aircraft noise demanded by the initiative proponents would only have created drawbacks for nearby residents as well as for the airport operator. Unique (Flughafen Zürich AG) definitely supports concentrating aircraft noise and intends to ensure that as few people as possible are affected.
