Nowadays, many research activities have been associated with
organic–inorganic nanocomposites for membrane preparation for
separation processes. For pervaporative dehydration of ethylene
glycol (EG) aqueous solution, a poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)–SiO2
nanocomposite membrane with the incorporation of silica particles into PVA caused desirable changes in the morphology and
crystalline structure of the membranes, and significantly enhanced
the thermal stability and stability of the membranes in EG aqueous
solution
