I have exciting news to share. We have just received the long anticipated first sizable customer order in India. We will be retrofitting 16 cells (out of 120 cells) of one cooling tower unit at the Mundra power plant owned by Adani. This is the power plant shown in the large picture outside the Vadodara conference room at 500 (see attachment). The nominal contract value is $1.4MM. Our plant in India is ready and production is already underway.
This is a proud moment and one that recalls a long and both complicated and compelling path. A few people deserve a special thank you for the pioneering and visionary work in an unlikely place: to Anant Upadhyaya for your vision, skill and confidence in bringing our cultures together; to Rob Ulrich for realizing our operational capability with energy and determination; to Mike Whittemore for deep experience that lets us believe in the opportunity; and to Rich Aull who has tirelessly been our ambassador of knowledge and good will.
We are also proud of our colleagues in India who have learned our business, earned our respect and embraced our mission in India. I look forward to a bright future together. Thank you also to those in the US who have worked hard to enable this venture in India.
