The first-day seminars and talks will be at the Nightjar Hotel conference facilities. The 3-day safari will give a wonderful opportunity to study some of the bird species in the Phuket region. Observant watchers might see pheasants, parrots, hornbills, and woodpeckers. Here are some species that you might see; the Oriental Pied Hornbill, eleven different species of Bulbul, the Vernal Hanging Parrot, four species of cuckoo, the Lesser Whistling-duck, the Asian Brown Flycatcher, and many more…. The woodpeckers are the Banded, and the Grey-capped Pygmy. Nearer stretches of water, the Black-backed and Black-capped Kingfishers, the White-throated Kingfisher and the White-breasted Waterhen might be active as well as species of egret, the Little Cormorant, and the Purple Heron. There will be a special prize for anyone who spots the extremely rare Rhinoceros Hornbill.
