Chinese museum shut down
Beijing — Chinese authorities closed a museum which contained scores of fake exhibits, including a vase decorated with cartoon characters billed as a Qing dynasty artefact.
The facility, in northern China’s Hebei province, has no qualification to be a museum as its collections are fake, an official told the Global Times newspaper on July 16.
The museum’s owner, local Communist Party official Wang Zongquan, developed a reputation of buying everything that was brought to him, a Global Times source said. — AFP
