The first days and weeks of a new job can be a challenging issue for newcomers. They must meet new people, learn to navigate a new building, understand policies and procedures and get equipment and supplies. Then there’s figuring out the culture of the organization. Most important, newcomers need to understand the job itself and what is expected of them.
