In most cases the students would not have explored the
available resources, or if they had this would help them
remember. The laboratory demonstrator would ask the
students to review the resource, and that they would return in
five minutes to check if they had gained the required level of
understanding. This allows the laboratory demonstrator more
time to spend with the rest of the class, instead of investing a
significant amount of time teaching the fundamental skills.
Upon returning to the students, if the appropriate level of
understanding had still not been reached, the laboratory
demonstrator would be required to identify the issue and help
guide the students to the necessary level of understanding.
