Measuring quality conventions in the food industry: Applications to the wine sector in Spain

Quality conventions can be analysed with quantitative methods, not only qualitative ones.

A selection of 19 statistical indicators are proposed to measure quality within the wine sector.

The 19 indicators are calculated for a selection of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO).

Conventions of quality are measured, and rankings were established within the PDOs.
