Modeled wind speeds were processed for each grid so as to obtain monthly averages, and these were further averaged which provided long-term monthly averages over the period 1995–2009. The long-term mean yearly wind speed was also calculated using a similar procedure. The results as shown in the next section are presented as monthly and yearly wind speeds at 100 m above the ground.
