In spite of the diversity of MFA concepts and their functions, there are basically three main reference points: (1) activities for food production; (2) spaces in which nature, landscape and environment preservation and protection take place; (3) the socio-economic structure that links the above-‘‘consumers’’ who value ‘‘healthy and safe food’’; (b) the ‘‘visitors’’ who value ‘‘leisure and recreation’’ services; (c) the ‘‘general public’’ (including both users and non-users populations) who value ‘‘beneficial processes’’ and ‘‘nature and cultural heritage preservation’’.
