We need to know the cost of a resource per product. Figure 3 shows that the cost of a resource is assigned to an activity according to the demand that that activity places on the resource. A resource driver is a metric that quantifies this demand. To describe the cost-relation
between the resource and the activity the concepts 'demand' and 'consumption' are both used, but in the context of this relation they are similar. Resource costs will be assigned to an activity in proportion to their consumption in that particular activity, as measured by the resource driver set
