-Monks have started cleaning up Wat Phra Borommathat Chaiya in Surat Thani's Chaiya district now that floodwaters in the South are receding.
- The temple's main pagoda,which houses the Lord Buddha's relics,was earlier flooded under one metre of water. However,nearly all the water has now been pumped out.
- Monks and villagers yesterday began cleaning areas near the pagoda and the temple halls.
-Other provinces in the South,hit by days of heavy rain,also reported good news.
- The situation in Nakhon Si Thammarat municipality has nearly returned to normal with most floods now subsiding.
-In Trang,only three out of six districts remain flooded, In these three districts,villagers still have to struggle against water overflowing from the Trang River.
- In Phatthalung, the situation in six districts near Banthat mountain has returned to normal, and 12 elementary schools will resume classes tomorrow.
