This research determined the group of individuals running small ecotourism enterprises to
be mostly males in the age group of 26–60 and with basic educational background. Half of
them depend on ecotourism business to meet their financial needs. The factor analysis revealed
the environmental profile of the participants indicating that they are willing to cooperate with
environmental organizations (governmental or non-governmental) and with others in the ecotourism
business. They presented a high degree of environmental activism and a thorough
understanding of their environmental education needs. They were ready to financially commit
in the environmental protection process and were willing to accept environmental education.
The study also showed that influence received through the existing channels of environmental
education was less important; noted in the way they prioritized environment protection.
