Soil pH had no significant effect on rr Zinc, but comparable patterns were detectable in all tissue datasets rr Zinc was lowest in acidic and highest in neutral and alkaline soils. With decreasing pH the solubility and phytoavailability of Zinc increases and thus the potential benefit of AMF-mediated Zinc concentration can be reduced. The trials included in soil pH level acidic were dominated by non-deficient soil Zinc levels, i.e.most studies with acidic growth substrate had a soil Zn concentration higher than 0.5 mg*kg soilÀ1 and thus did probably not suffer from Zinc deficiency.
