The children who received oral stories via a storyteller scored higher on comprehension than those who received the same stories in either the CD-ROM version or in print. However, the study revealed that the majority of children held positive attitudes toward computer usage, regardless of treatment group. The investigation found that communication technology such as interactive CD-ROM stories could be effective in motivating minority children to read and interact with technology in early educational environments. The traditional print communication mode was the least effective method for reading comprehension.
