After the initial analysis, several changes in the company’s processes had been undertaken to increase the performance (Table 2). The changes were best visible in the demand link as it was easier to have an effect on demand than supply. In inventory management, new control policies were implemented and several other internal processes were clarified and streamlined. More efforts were put in the management of the high value and high demand materials. Also there were proactive actions to under- stand the customer demand more effectively and how the customer’s ordering behavior could be changed.
