In fact, there was not a single mortality observed in any
bioassay of these light treatments (Fig. 1); all ASW and
RHW controls also had 100% survival. However, the
cell-free filtrate maintained in the dark adjacent to the
natural sunlight treatment levels was highly toxic to fish
with a 24 and a 48-h LC50 value of 19.50% filtrate
[95% confidence intervals (CI): 14.99–25.38%].
