Once questions were developed, the counselor then asked students to discuss
possible answers to each of the questions. During this time, the counselor heavily
focused on students’ experiences with their own anger and inappropriate behavior. By
allowing two sessions to discuss hypotheses, students were able to reflect on the
problem statement, how the problem related to their lives, and the impact of their own
inappropriate responses to anger. Group members also began brainstorming possible
solutions to not only the problem statement but also to their own anger management
struggles.
