Quality assurance plan and review
QAP as a statement of procedures
The QAP states the detailed quality requirements of the system, and for each stage of the system.
It clearly states the checks and tests that are required for each item and informs the testers what procedures are to be carried out.
It also lets each section or individual know exactly what is required well beforehand so that the test dates and times can be timetabled
QAP as a cost and schedule plan
The QAP acts as a time and cost plan for the project as it states the time and money required for each stage in the process.
It is important to remember that quality is less likely to be cut if it is planned for specifically because it becomes a stated requirement of the system being developed, and resources are allocated to it.
