This warning is provided to indicate the condition of the vehicle’s engine and its control systems. It there is a fault in the systems, the warning light comes on while the engine is running. Cheek engine light may be triggered by oil pressure, coolant temperature, or by the engine control computer that monitors several engine system and illuminates the warning light whenever it senses a fault. It may also illuminate when the computer has stored a fault or diagnostic code in its memory.
