I repeat this estimate with continuous variables for the amount of tea and orchards planted in each county i. Columns (5)–(8) of Table IV show that the estimates have the same signs as the estimates with the dummy variables in columns (1)–(4). The estimates show that one additional mu of tea planted increases female educational attainment by 0.38 years and male educational attainment by 0.5 years, whereas one additional mu of orchards decreases female educational attainment by 0.12 years and has no effect on male educational attainment.
