Investigation of change of exponential frequency index
as related to durian maturity
Acoustic impulse technique was employed to investigate the change in
resonant frequency of durians of “Chanee” variety. About 25 durians were measured
for the frequency as they matured on the tree. To calculate f m2 23/ value, the mass
of durians was indirectly obtained. The volume of each individual fruit was
measured on the tree and converted to mass by multiplying by density of other
durians with the same maturity picked from the same tree. The measurement was
carried out at interval of about one week from about nine weeks before normal
harvest time until one week after harvest time.
