In the present study, plastic film-mulched ridge and bare furrow and biodegradable film-mulched ridge and bare furrow treatments significantly increased the soil moisture content and soil temperature, but reduced evaporation, thereby enhancing the corn productivity and WUE. Compared with conventional flat field system, the corn yields with the plastic filmmulched ridge and bare furrow and biodegradable film-mulched ridge and bare furrow were increased by 20.4 and 19.4%, respectively, while the WUE levelsincreased by 23.3 and 21.7%, respectively.
