2. INORGANIC ACCEPTOR MATERIALS
The choice of materials used in hybrid solar cells is crucial to the overall efficiency, and
thus the success of this technology. This section details the ideal desired properties of
inorganic materials used. It then surveys the materials which have currently been
investigated, analyses the specific materials with reference to the aforementioned
desired properties and also explains the advantages of each major material group.
2.1 Ideal Material Properties
There are many design considerations for choosing a polymeric donor material for use
in hybrid solar cells (Dennler et al., 2009), however, this report will focus only on
design considerations for inorganic acceptor materials. Choosing the appropriate
