1.2.1 - Battery toys and dual-supply toys without compartments intended to contain button cell batteries are exempt if both the following conditions are true:
Parts of differing potential cannot be short-circuited when tested per the “Straight Steel Wire” test of QSOP 3265, Battery and Transformer Toys – Heating and Abnormal Operation.
The total battery voltage does not exceed 2.5 V measured 1 second after a 1-Ω resistor has been connected between the supply terminals of the toy, any current limiting device being short circuited, and without the toy being operated.
1.2.2 - Toys are exempt if they do not contain screws, nuts, or similar fasteners that are used for any of the following:
1.2.2.1 - To transmit electrical contact pressure, i.e., an electrical connection.
