The experimental setup of successive forging is shown in Fig. 2. A feeder machine was added to allow plate
feeding into the compression region. The feeder fed the material with a specific forging interval. Three guides were
utilized during the forging process. An entrance guide aligned the plate into the compression region. The exit guide
consists of a side guide and an upper guide. The side guide is used to reduce the curvature of the plate during
forging. The upper guide is used to reduce the plate curvature in the thickness direction. In order to examine the
effect of the punch shapes on the plate having an inclined cross-section, two types of inclined punch were used in
this experiment. The punches having a flat and taper bottoms are shown in Fig. 3(a) and Fig. 3(b), respectively.
