Every adult male in Rusembilan is expected to be able to recite the Koran by rote.As a matter of fact,many men and quite a few woman can.This recitation is in Arabic,the language of the Koran,so that very few of the villagers understand what they are reciting.In Rusembilan there are only two individuals,the Iman and one other religious leader,who have the slightest understanding of the Arabic they read.
