What has happened since has bordered on the farcical. You have had billing data arriving on magnetic tape, punched cards, index cards and even two thousand odd customer details written in biro in school exercise books. Some have had information missing, lots of people have names misspelt or are listed at addresses that don’t even exist. Deadlines are missed more often than met, and whenever you complain, it is impossible to get hold of anyone who is actually in charge, as they are always away on training or attending a conference. It is quite clear that the low level staff who are actually involved in collating the data couldn’t care less and in fact resent Billco’s staff contacting them direct. Accusations of racism have even been made when your staff have become frustrated at what is happening, and you have now had enough.
