Disaster Relief Efforts
Korean Air, using its specialties in the areas of logistics transportation, is actively involved in social services.
Since the organization of its disaster relief team in 1997, the company has been sending a special aircraft to transport relief goods and sending helicopters to save people's lives in times of natural disasters.
In February, 2011, the company sent 18 tons of mineral water to quake victims in Christchurch, New Zealand. Also, in March and April, Korean Air and its employees donated 5,000 and 7,768 boxes of mineral water respectively as well as 2,000 blankets for the victims of the earthquake in Japan. In addition, the company donated KRW 700M to the Korean Red Cross for relief efforts.
