Table 4 shows the results obtained expressed as the mean value
of three independent determinations besides their corresponding
standard deviations. The information on the content of fat, proteins
and carbohydrates specified in the packing level of the samples is
also included. Only BaP in the mussel sample was found at a concentration
above the method quantitation limit. BaP was also the
PAH more frequently detected in the other samples analysed (estimated
concentrations for values below MQLs are included in the
table). Similar results have been previously found (Mottier, Parisod
& Turesky, 2000; Rey Salgueiro et al., 2009; Ziegenhals et al., 2008)
BaA was also detected in salmon. All the concentrations found for
PAHs were far below the maximum level set for BaP in EC Regulation.
