Implementation of the SOS in the ED

Implementation of the SOS in the ED has significantly decreased patients’ wait times and length of stay, while improving patient throughput and reported satisfaction. This was achieved over a 2-year period with 7% growth in volume, without increasing the department’s size or resources. As a result of these positive findings, the SOS continues to spread throughout our organization.
