has represented the 37th Legislative District (Coeymans, Ravena, Coeymans Hollow, Alcove and parts of Selkirk) in the Albany County Legislature since 1992. He has served as Deputy Minority Leader from July 1999 to December 2011.
Currently, Peter is the Ranking Minority member of the Conservation and Improvement Committee and Public Works Committee. He was the Chairman of the Special Committee on Lawson Lake County Park (1996-1998) and has been a member of the Audit and Finance Committee. He also served on the Albany County Economic Partnership Committee.
Peter has worked with constituents and the federal and state governments in the successful effort to open Lawson Lake County Park, owned by Albany County since the late 1970's, to the public commencing on April 1, 1998.
Peter also served as one of the two legislative liaisons to the Albany County E-911 Committee which led to the implementation of a county-wide enhanced E-911 emergency service system and has worked on numerous constituent and community projects and committees.
