- The model of the MPTS data base system structure (Figure 2) depicts the contents of the various files and the links and relationships between them.
- This structure allows the retrieval of information and data contained in the data base in almost any conceivable form and combination.
- The way in which the input and output phases are organized is shown in Figure 1.
- The input and output programme and the data-base structure is presently operated by the "K-man II" data-base management system.
- However, the increasing number of data relationships which make up the data-base system, suggest the future use of a data manager, such as the MDBS III, which is better suited to coping with a large number of relationships.
- For the output files and the search formulation the MICRO CDS/ISIS management system is used as a faster software package for this part of the data-base operation.
