Grabbing a soft drink or a chocolate
bar when refuelling can be very
tempting to drivers – service stations
are set up to encourage this. This
can distort the data being used to
manage fuel spending.
Similarly, purchases of oil, window
wiper blades or other small pieces of
car maintenance can also distort the
figures if it is not captured separately
to the fuel expenditure.
