Kampuchea (PRK) led by Hun Sen, the
Democratic Kampuchea (DK) or Khmer Rouge
led by Pol Pot and later by Khieu Sam Phan, the
Khmer People’s National Liberation Front
(KPNLF) led by Son Sann, and the National
United Front for a Cooperative, Independent,
Neutral and Peaceful Cambodia (FUNCIPEC) led
by Norodom Sihanouk. These four factions were
all vying for central rule and international
recognition.
