Outside Mandalay, there are several abandoned capital cities. You can visit Sagaing, which contains interesting pagodas, the old city Ava, or take a river trip to Mingun in order to see the famous Mingun Bell, which is the world's largest uncracked hung bell. Another destination is Amarapura city, which is also famous for its cotton and silk weaving.
