Both S. cerevisiae transformants (ATCC 9763/YIpdAGSGd
and ATCC 9763/YIpdSGSAd) were able to
utilize starch in the medium, whereas the parental
wild-type (S. cerevisiae ATCC 9763) was not. a-
Amylase and glucoamylase activities were measured
in the culture supernatants from transformants grown
in YPS media. Clones giving the highest activities
were selected for further analysis.
