The control group performed better and showed less variability in task performance, based on emotion recognition
scores, than the individuals with ID.
Results of the multiple regressions are provided in Table 2. These show that after controlling for ability, the control group
performed significantly better than the individuals with ID on emotion recognition. This provides some support for the
emotion specificity hypothesis
