( C )The seedlings of the wild Solanaceae were maintained in pots, under greenhouse conditions and inoculated with 6000 eggs and juveniles of the root-knot nematode species/plant. 63 days after inoculation the plants were evaluated for the egg mass index (EMI), gall index (GI), number of eggs per gram of root (NEGR), and reproduction factor (RF). The species S. stramonifolium, S. paniculatum and S. subinerme were as resistant to M. javanica and a mixed population (M. incognita race 1 and M. javanica).
