(1) Indicator Strains. The indicator strains included Bacillus cereus PA24, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 19095, Escherichia
coli O157:H7, Listeria monocytogenes ScottA, Salmonella typhi ATCC 13311, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa BFE 162. Bacillus cereus PA24, Escherichia coli O157:H7, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa BFE 162 were obtained from the Department of Applied Biology, DANIDA Microbiology Laboratory of the University for Development Studies, while Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 19095, Listeria monocytogenes Scott A, and Salmonella typhi ATCC 13311 were obtained fromthe Department of Nutrition and Food Science of the University of Ghana.
