4. Conclusion
In this work, a novel method was developed for high throughput
determination of antioxidant based on a DPPH dry reagent array.
The method involved coating the surface of a 96 microplate
with DPPH, previously dissolved in methanol, by drying it under
nitrogen. The DPPH dry reagent array was applied successfully to
the determination of antioxidant activity in real samples and performed
as well as the fresh solution DPPH assay.
The proposed
method offers some advantages compared to the classical solution-
based assays. The advantages included but were not limited
to rapid, sensitive, cost-effective and convenient, used less reagents
and could be stored for up to 4 months.
