Educational administration training programs offered by Palestinian educators
remained primarily within the realm of informal non-degree programs offered by the
authority responsible for providing education to the Palestinian population in the West
Bank and Gaza Strip. Although universities were established in the mid seventies in
the West Bank, no rigorous formal educational administration programs were
instituted until a decade later. In the mid-nineties, however, the majority of universities
in the West Bank and Gaza Strip began to offer graduate level programs in educational
administration. Although these programs may differ slightly from each other in terms
of duration and content, they focused on a core curriculum that included courses in
educational psychology, educational administration and leadership, and research
methodology.
