Simulation and Analysis
The proposed antenna element is analyzed using the full-wave method of moment
technique (MoM) with the aid of the zeland-ie3d full-wave electromagnetic
simulator [6]. Fig. (3) shows that the simulated return loss S11 parameter is better
than -10dB within the frequency range of (1793-2516MHz), which means 33.55%
band-width enhancement. The figure also shows that the center frequencies of the
triple-bands of interest, PCS-USA, UMTS and Bluetooth, which are equal to
1920MHz, 2045MHz, and 2442MHz respectively are corresponding to S11 values
that better than -15dB, this ensures good antenna operation within the specified
frequency bands. Fig. (4) shows that the normalized broad-side radiation pattern
with E-plane cut at 2.4 GHz gives the required donut-shape for different φ angles.
Fig. (5) shows that the gain=4.116 dBi with beam-width=72ο. Physical prototype
of the proposed antenna is under production.
