A review long overdue, I was here months ago on family leisure.
To get to the hotel lobby on a vehicle, you need to make a turn round the building before stopping at their concierge. Entrance to the hotel will be through the lift lobby past the Concierge area. Taking you up to the 9th floor, you step out looking to the hotel restaurant (read: Breakfast) and a slight left brings to the rest of the lobby. Huge and spacious with beautiful decor, the lobby is an interesting place to begin photo takings.
Going to the rooms, they were rather small albeit the great design of the rooms. It exudes purity and simplicity with their room design. Bathroom are nice as well but it seems to be rather open. The sliding doors did not seem to be meant to be locked, and in another room, the shower area is only covered with a curtain through a glass panel looking into the bedroom.
Breakfast at the restaurant was a pleasant affair with good food and mostly great people.
You can step out onto the open area outside and enjoy the great view of BKK city!
Located opposite the Pratunam Market area, I'd say it is well located. However, families with elderly or children should note that to get to the other side of the road, you will need to use either the two overhead bridges nearby or navigate across the traffic.
Adjacent building is the Watergate Pavillion Mall, not exactly a shopping paradise, but the top floor seems to be the training area for youngsters to practice their dance moves. Also on the top floor, you would find several dining choices, one of which is the Saab Saab (I hope it is still around). Serving great Thai food amidst an air conditioned environment, we had our meals there several times during our trip and found the food to be quite good and reasonably priced. The hotel is also steps away from the Palladium.
All in, I would say that I had made a great choice by staying here.
