2.6.1. Turn angles cross-correlation
As discussed previously, the oyster contour is represented by a list of points, with the leftmost pixel as the starting point and traced in clockwise direction. Next, the total number of contour points is reduced to 50 equally spaced points (as an example) along the contour of the oyster. The reduced-point contour of the oyster forms a closed polygon. The system calculates the turn angle at each vertex of this polygon, again starting from the leftmost point and working clockwise.
