On 10 April 1912, the largest ship ever built at that time left England to sail to New York. It was name Titanic, and the people who built it believed it would never sink. Four and a half days later, the Titanic was lying at the bottom of the ocean and more than 1,500 passesengers were dead. In the middle of the night the ship hit and icrberg and just two hours and forty minutes later it disappeared into the ice-cold water of the North Atlantic Ocean.
